My wife and I recently purchased a small, off-the-grid cabin in New Mexcio at the beginning of 2014, and we needed some way to power lights, charge our laptop, and run a small electric drill. We purchased this Renogy Solar Panel Starter Kit in hopes that it would do just that.

I got 2 interstate golf cart batteries, one 400 Watt Cobra Inverter and 8 LED 800 Lumen, and my cabin is bright like a star. I can charge me laptop and watch TV (LCD) and still got enough power to read at night :-). The batteries have not been low yet. The solar panel even charges on cloudy days.
